PINE EAGLE – The Prairie City Panther football team hit the road last Friday to challenge Pine Eagle, and came home with a 30-6 win.

“It was a good game,” said coach Rod Willet. “Our kids have really stepped it up on defense and they looked really good.”

Cole Hoberg, a senior starter, has been on the sidelines for medical reasons, but was able to come in for a few plays toward the end of the game.

Willet said he’s looking forward to having him back for the rest of the season.

With a 1-1 overall record, the Panthers are using the week to prepare for their first league game this week.

“We are focusing our practice towards the types of plays that Harper/Huntington ran last year,” said Willet.

The Panthers invite all of their fans to come when they host Harper/Huntington on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m.
