KIMBERLY - More than 50 people turned out recently to shoot clay pigeons for a great cause.

A Meat Shoot at Kimberly netted $570 to support the Grant County Pee Wee Rodeo Team.

G.W. and Riley Clark of Long Creek, the only members of the team, were given proceeds of the event, $570, to help with their travel expenses for the coming year.

"We had a great turnout," said Julie Mansfield Smith, pleased that so many people turned out to support the young men and to eat hamburgers prepared by Toni Clark.

Brad Smith, 4-H Shooting Sports Leader in Monument, and his wife Julie, donated the facilities for the event.

The next benefit shoot will help the 2010 Grant County Rodeo Queen and Court. It will be held Saturday, Feb. 20 at Kimberly Rock Products.
