Cindy Phillips achieves Dean's List Honors at U of O

EUGENE - Cindy Phillips, a 2002 graduate of Meridian High School in Meridian, Idaho, earned Dean's List Honors at the University of Oregon for the fall term.

Phillips, a freshman majoring in business and political science, is the daughter of Fritz Phillips of John Day and Tammy and Chris Williams of Fairview, Ore.

A 3.5 or higher grade is required for listing on the Dean's List.

David Wallace performs recital at Lewis and Clark

PORTLAND - David Wallace, a 2000 Grant Union High School graduate, is performing a senior voice recital Saturday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Lewis and Clark's Evans Auditorium.

As part of the graduation requirements, Wallace will perform the public audition. He will graduate in May 2004 with a degree in music composition and performance.

The recital will include peace songs by Ned Roem, folk songs accompanied by harp, Baroque cantata by Andre Campra and various classic, Italian melodies. The last song set will be a double finale for tenor voice, written by Wallace and sung to his original electronic score.

Fellow senior, David Anderson, has created a multiple-screen music video to accompany the music.

Wallace is also an active member of the college's choir, Cappella Nova, and will be performing in April and May.
