PRAIRIE CITY - Jan. 21, 2009. Early this morning the three men prepared the tables for those who signed in later to eat the meal of taco soup, mashed potatoes, fresh salsa, apple salad, rolls and vanilla pudding. We had 55 who came and five meals were delivered, one way or another.

Marvin Casebeer did the announcing, then he left for a meeting in John Day. Buzz Harris led the flag salute. David Hoeffner gave the blessing. He also brought in some food - potatoes and oranges - but I do not know the true story on them.

The certificate winners were Georgie Hatfield, Prairie Drug and Hardware, and David Hoeffner, Chuck's Little Diner.

The servers were Sharon Kimberling, Beverly Curtis and Pat Binyon from Grace Chapel. I did help them by serving the seventh table.

Lorna Askew and Andi Klenski (first-timer) brought Wally Wedde, Stacey McKinney, Daphne Andrews and Vern Randall from the nursing home.

Norma Rynearson gave the kitchen some nylon scrubbers.

Georgie Hatfield is "learning" to prewash the silverware, as she did them today.

Feb. 2, the American Legion Auxiliary is having their Groundhog Supper at the Strawberry Grange Hall from 5 to 7 p.m.
