REDMOND – The Prairie City Volleyball Club won third place overall last weekend in Redmond, where the girls competed in the 12 and under bracket.

Competing against teams from Bend, Prineville and Sisters the club jumped out to a six-game win streak with scores of 20-11, 20-11, 20-16, 20-19, and 20-14.

Undefeated in pool play, they received a bye in the first round.

The streak continued as they won their first game 20-14, but were halted by a tough Bend team, losing the second game 12-20.

In the final game, the club jumped out to a comfortable 8-point lead, but Bend used textbook serves and capitalized off of passing errors to come back.

In a back-and-forth battle, Bend landed on top, winning 15-14.

Athletes in the new Prairie City club include: Averie Wenger, Baylee Metcalf, Hailee Wright, Kailee Wright, Madison Metcaf, Rilee Emmel, Shaine Madden, Taylor Allen, Tyler Voigt and Marissa Smith.
