On Sept. 11, a smaller-than-usual crowd attended. We missed the folks from Blue Mountain Nursing Home.

The set-up crew included Amos, Clayton Curtis, Carl John and Buzz Harris, who also delivered 12 home meals.

June Waldon and Ruth Johns greeted 35 diners.

Del Lake led the flag salute, and Ruth Johns asked the blessing.

Winners of the drawings included Norma Rynearson, Prairie Drug and Hardware; Mel Rookstool, certificate from the Lunch Box Deli; Clayton Curtis, haircut at Mort's Barber Shop; and Marjorie Harris, certificate from the Branding Iron Cafe.

Norma Rynearson, Marjorie Harris, Eula Mae Thompson and Barbara Raines served salmon loaf with lemon slices and delicious tarter sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, whole kernel corn, wheat rolls and cake.

The servers had help from Buzz Harris and Carl Johns. Lonnie Lake and Naomi Goslin prewashed silverware. The men made fast work of the hall clean-up - Amos Cardwell, Del Lake, Ottis Garrett and Hank Goslin. Cleo Dunten washed tables.
