Feb. 16 was a sunny day, but cooler. Even below 10 degrees at 6 a.m. The cold did not keep the five early birds home as they were on the job preparing six tables.
Nine take-out meals were delivered and Eula T. greeted 35 who attended. The flag salute was led by Buzz Harris and the blessing was given by Amos Cardwell.
Today our servers and workers were mostly Grace Chapel ladies; Sharon Kimberling, Beverly Curtis, Luella Simrell and Barbara Bass. Welcome Barbara. They served poultry and noodles, green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls, mixed green salad and cake.
No nursing home guests today, I heard they were short on help. Are the "bugs" (like flu and colds) going around?
It was announced today that gift certificates are to be used in 30 days. The gift certificate winners: Louise LaBaugh won Chuck's Little Diner, Eula Thompson won Lunch Box Deli, Sharon Kimberling won the one from Prairie Drug and Hardware and Amos Cardwell won the one from Mort's Barber Shop.
Clean-up crews everywhere were so fast, they were finished before I was, so I have no idea who did it.
