"Brrr, it is cold in here!" was what we said as we entered the Strawberry Grange Hall on the morning of Aug. 21. When people began to arrive we felt warmer.

The early morning crew of Amos Cardwell, Clayton Curtis, Buzz Harris, Carl Johns and Marvin Casebeer set up tables adding vases of pretty flowers. Buzz delivered 12 home meals.

June Waldon and Ruth Johns greeted 49 diners.

Carl Johns led the flag salute, and Pastor Denny Diezel of the United Methodist Church gave the blessing.

Elaine Kight, Sandi Rennels, Beverly Curtis, and Marjorie Harris from Grace Chapel served delicious grilled fish, mashed potatoes and gravy, green and purple cabbage salad, wheat rolls, and chocolate upside-down cake with cherries.

The kitchen clean-up crew included the servers and Buzz Harris, Carl and Ruth Johns. Bonnie Lake and Naomi Goslin pre-washed plates and silverware. Del Lake, Carl Leishman, Hank Goslin, Ottis Garrett and Marvin Casebeer cleaned the tables and hall.

Gift certificates were won by Marjorie Harris, Prairie Drug; Chuck Bartley, Mort's Barber Shop; Lucille Fooks, Branding Iron and Vivian Rookstool, Chuck's Little Diner.

August birthdays will be celebrated at noon Wednesday, Aug. 28.
