Prairie City 68, Adrian 20
ADRIAN - The Panthers ran wild in their first Old Oregon League football game of the season on Friday, Sept. 20, against Adrian scoring 10 touchdowns and cruising to a 68-20 victory over the Antelopes.
The victory kept Prairie City's season record unblemished at 3-0 overall.
Ariel Winegar scored four touchdowns to lead the Panthers, two of his touchdown runs came on kickoff returns of 98 and 70 yards.
Joshua Munyon rushed for 61 yards and scored three times, and Tyler Waggoner had 99 yards rushing and scored one touchdown, and also threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Josh Moulton.
Brandon Lovell had a pair of touchdowns and picked up 75 yards rushing.
"We were able to move the ball pretty well on them and just about everything seemed to be working for us," Prairie City coach Chris Wood said. "On defense there was a lot of hard hitting going on out there and you could really hear the pads cracking on nearly every play."
The contest could have been called on the 45-point rule, but the early scoring by the Panthers gave Wood the opportunity to get a number of his reserve players in the game.
Prairie City returns to league play on Friday, traveling to Crane for a key game against the Mustangs. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
