PRAIRIE CITY – The new Prairie City Ranger District offices will hold an open house from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 5.

“The staff and I are excited to have the opportunity to invite the public to visit our new facility and see what we can provide the district,” said Randy Gould, district ranger. “We look forward to meeting with community members as well as visitors to the area.”

The facility is located at 327 SW Front St.

The 9,100-square-foot building, which opened for business in January, replaces outdated and unsafe structures that dated back to 1958. The new building is equipped with energy efficient materials and equipment, including a solar water heater system.

At the open house, there will be refreshments, displays, and an opportunity to talk with the staff.
