PRAIRIE CITY - The Prairie City Christmas Concert, "A Little Christmas,"-was held on Dec. 18 in the new gym.

Prairie City's traditional singing of "White Christmas" and "Silent Night" by all students and audience prepared everyone for the traditional visit from Santa, with treats for-children provided by Santa's helpers, the Prairie City FFA.

The gym was decorated by teachers Shannon Jensen, Becky Sharp, Christie Winegar, Sue Thompson, Bee Lim, Dianne Lesniak, and Ryan Gerry and educational assistant Sarah Ceja.

Kindergarten: "Jingle Bells" (kindergarteners accompanied themselves with real jingle bells) and "Let's Play in the Snow" (students performed singing and in sign language).

First Grade: "O Come, Little Children" (students sang and signed the song) and "Christmas A-Come" (Jamaican song) Students also played triangles, cymbals, and woodblocks.

Second Grade:

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town" (students helped create the choreography) and "The Friendly Beasts."

Third Grade: "Dale!" (Mexican Christmas song) Soloist Amaya Zweygardt performed in Spanish and "Up on the Housetop" (students helped create the choreography)

Fourth Grade: "Feliz Navidad" (students helped create the choreography) and "We Three Kings."

Fifth Grade: "Go Tell It On The Mountain" (soloists were Chenise Mutchler and Marika Woodbury) and "We Need A Little Christmas" (soloists were Kailey Randi Kell and Cole Wood, and the students performed harmony parts).

Sixth Grade: "Walking in the Light" (students performed as a percussion ensemble anchored by Tucker Billman, Cole Hoberg, and Dylan Flippence) and "Feast of Light" (some students sang, the rest accompanied them on percussion).

Small Group: "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," performed by McKenzie Davis, Kristy Madsen, Chenise Mutchler,-Madison Purnell, Justice Strong, Aimee Wood and-Marika Woodbury.

All students and audience then joined in singing "White Christmas" and "Silent Night."
