UNION - The Grant Union High School volleyball team wrapped up the Wapiti League championship with a three-game 25-20, 25-17, 26-24 victory over Union on Friday, Oct. 24.

The victory gives the Prospectors the No. 1 seed at the Wapiti League tournament on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Joseph.

The winner of the district tournament and the runner-up team will advance to the state championships in Portland.

Grant Union also picked up a pair of non-league victories over Class 3A opponents Riverside and Mac-Hi on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The Prospectors defeated the Pirates from Riverside 25-21, 25-12, 25-19 in the opening match of the doubleheader, before coming back with an easy 25-5, 25-22, 25-21 win over the Pioneers.
