Grant County Sheriff's Department

• Dec. 9 - A 17-year-old Mt. Vernon juvenile was cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.

• Dec. 9 - A 15-year-old John Day juvenile was arrested for initiating a false report.

• Dec. 10 - Nancy Skinner, 66, Canyon City, was cited for passing in a no passing zone.

John Day Police

• Dec. 14 - Samuel L. McDaniel, 42, John Day, was cited for violation of basic speed rule (54/35 zone).

• Dec. 15 - Timothy L. Keith, 19, John Day, was arrested for fourth-degree assault and cited for minor in possession of alcohol.

• Dec. 15 - Timothy Zacharias, 19, Prairie City, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.

• Dec. 15 - Sarah Wilson, 19, Prairie City, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol.

Oregon State Police

• Dec. 15 - Michael Lee McCurdy, 50, no address listed, was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana as a result of a traffic stop on Highway 26 near the Texaco Star Mart West of John Day.

Robert Volney Officer, 36, no address listed, who was a passenger in the vehicle with McCurdy, was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

He was lodged in the Grant County Jail.

• Dec. 15 - Troopers assisted John Day police and Grant County deputies at the scene of a reported assault at space No. 64 in the Riverside Trailer Park.

Accidents and Incidents

John Day Dispatch

• Dec. 9 - John Day and Mt. Vernon ambulances were dispatched to a location on Picnic Creek Road for a 75-year-old male who reportedly was incoherent to his surroundings and hyperactive.

• Dec. 10 - A non-injury traffic accident was reported on Highway 26 at milepost 155.

• Dec. 10 - A non-injury traffic accident was reported on Highway 26 at milepost 159.

• Dec. 10 - John Day Ambulance was dispatched to the scene of an injury traffic accident on Highway 26 at milepost 166.

• Dec. 10 - John Day Fire Department was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Northeast Elm Street in response to a reported flu fire.

• Dec. 12 - Monument Ambulance was dispatched for a 54-year-old male who had collapsed. The victim had reportedly been unconscious, but was waking up.

• Dec. 13 - John Day and Mt. Vernon ambulances were dispatched for a 57-year-old male who was reportedly suffering from chest pains.
