Sept. 25 - William J. Burch, 19, no address listed, was cited for first-degree criminal trespass and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Sept. 27 - Charles Hutchinson Jr., 58, John Day, was cited for violation of basic speed rule (53/35 zone) and driving uninsured. Sept. 27 - Donna Hughes, 47, Prairie City, was cited for driving uninsured. Sept. 27 - A 17-year-old juvenile from John Day was cited for careless driving and speed racing. Sept. 28 - John M. Peila III, 52, Hines, was cited for violation of basic speed rule (56/35 zone). Sept. 28 - Gary W. Jensen, 60, Boring, was cited for violation of basic speed rule (56/35 zone). Sept. 28 - Sandra Dee Lawrence, 40, John Day, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. Sept. 28 - Ariel Winegar, 18, Prairie City, was cited for driving uninsured. Sept. 29 - Joshua D. Winegar, 19, John Day, was cited for interfering with an emergency vehicle. Sept. 29 - Antonio C. Crist, 24, John Day, was arrested for attempting to elude, driving under the influence of intoxicants, providing false information to a police officer and driving while suspended. Sept. 29 - Jamie Kennedy, 19, John Day, was cited for minor in possession of alcohol. Sept. 30 - OSP assisted John Day officers with a minor in possession of alcohol citation. Prairie City Police Sept. 8 - Two juvenile males were cited for disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. Sept. 14 - A juvenile male was cited for no bicycle helmet. Sept. 21 - James Woomer, 34, Prairie City, was arrested for fourth-degree assault. Sept. 21 - Joseph Madden, 22, Prairie City, was cited for violation of basic speed rule (51/25 zone), careless driving, failure to change registration and failure to carry proof of insurance. Sept. 22 - Quinn Lundbom, 19, John Day, was cited for violation of basic speed rule (73/55 zone).Accidents and IncidentsJohn Day Police Sept. 23 - John Day and Prairie City ambulances were dispatched for a 93-year-old female who was reportedly incoherent. Sept. 23 - John Day and Mt. Vernon ambulances were dispatched for a female in her 70s who reportedly had been run over by a colt and had suffered a possible broken arm. Sept. 30 - John Day Ambulance was dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of 11th Street in Prairie City for a 93-year-old female who was reportedly incoherent and weak. Sept. 25 - John Day and Mt. Vernon ambulances were dispatched to a residence in Mt. Vernon for a 65-year-old male who had reportedly suffered a possible heart attack. Sept. 25 - John Day and Mt. Vernon ambulances were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Highland Drive in Mt. Vernon for a 63-year-old female who had reportedly suffered a stroke. Sept. 26 - Long Creek and John Day ambulances were dispatched to the soccer field in Long Creek for a player suffering from a possible broken leg. Sept. 28 - John Day Ambulance responded to meet the Mitchell Ambulance which was transporting a 75-year-old female who was reportedly in cardiac arrest. Sept. 29 - John Day and Canyon City fire departments were dispatched to the scene of a fire on Highway 26 at milepost 159. The fire, located at Tidewater Construction property, was turned over to the Oregon Department of Forestry.Oregon State Police Sept. 16 - Robert Clark Vinson, 80, Los Angeles, Calif., was cited for careless driving after being involved in a traffic accident on northbound Highway 395 at milepost 118. Investigation indicated that Vinson was southbound Highway 395 when he apparently drifted off the roadway and into the gravel off the southbound road shoulder. His vehicle then struck two fog marker posts before overcorrecting to the left which caused the vehicle to go out of control. The vehicle then crossed the road and struck a utility pole off the northbound road shoulder. Vinson was treated at the scene by Blue Mountain Ambulance, the vehicle was towed by High Desert Towing. He was cited for careless driving.
