JOHN DAY – Members of the Northeast Oregon Forest Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) will meet May 19 in John Day to discuss selection of Title II projects for 2012. 

The public meeting will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at the Outpost Restaurant, 201 W. Main St.

RAC membership includes representatives from Grant, Harney, Union, Wallowa, Baker, Morrow, Wheeler, and Crook Counties. Title II projects are funded under the reauthorization of the county payments act.

It is the committee’s third meeting since the reauthorization of the act, according to Kurt Wiedenmann, La Grande District Ranger and designated federal official for the RAC.

The meeting will focus on reviewing and recommending 2012 project proposals. Individuals who wish to address the committee will be able to do so at 1 p.m.
