JOHN DAY - The Grant County Fairgrounds has updated its "wish list" to include donations of structures, including mobile units that could serve as temporary offices. For a complete list of needed items, contact the fair office at (541) 575-1900 or stop by Keerins Hall at 411 N.W. Bridge St.

Upcoming fairgrounds activities include:

• Oct. 11-12, Ranch Rodeo at Grant County Fairgrounds arena. Four-person teams entry fee is $400. Team doctoring, ranch horse class, mule roping; ranch bronc riding, team branding, horse roping, and a Calcutta are featured. Buckles and cash awards will be issued. Admission is $4 for adults; and kids under 10 are free, if attending with an adult.

• Oct. 18 - Farmer's market/craft sale and flea market at Trowbridge Pavilion. Call (541) 575-1900 to reserve an indoor or outside space.

Grant County Fair manager Carolyn Stout is seeking input for the 2004 Gun and Sports Show. Stout invites community members to help decide when the show is desired, hours of operation and what speakers and vendors are requested. Input can be mailed to Grant County Fair at 411 N.W. Bridge St., John Day, OR 97845 or call (541) 575-1900.
