June 2, 1925 - April 2, 2003

Raymond F. Waits, 77, of Prairie City died April 2 at Blue Mountain Hospital in John Day.

He was born June 2, 1925, to Ada (Eaton) Waits and Herbert Waits Sr. at Klamath Falls, where he attended grade school.

Mr. Waits joined the United States Navy in 1942 and served on the Navy ship Kormandorsche during World War II.

On May 2, 194, he married Eula Robinett at Winnemucca, Nev.

He was a member of the plumbers union, Local 290, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Mr. Waits is survived by wife Eula Waits of Prairie City; daughter Tracy Amarill of Klamath Falls; two brothers, Herbert Waits Jr. of La Pine and James R. Waits of Klamath Falls; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Terry and Judith; and two sisters.

At his request, no services were planned.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Grant County Branch.

Driskill Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
