LONG CREEK - The reward is up to $3,000 now for information leading to a conviction in the string of livestock shootings in northern Grant County.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office and Oregon Cattlemen's Association last month offered a $2,000 reward in the case. On Sept. 3, they announced that the Grant County Livestock Growers donated $500 to the cause, as did a rancher who wished to remain anonymous.

Sheriff Glenn Palmer is asking the public for help determining who killed two cattle on the Malheur National Forest grazing allotment east of Keeney Camp, and several sheep near Long Creek.

To report any suspicious activity, call 541-575-1131.
