GRANT COUNTY - Six road projects in Grant County totaling $10,558,000 have been approved by the state: three bridge projects, $5,258,000; two preservation projects, $4,800,000; work on a culvert at Beech Creek for salmon passage, $500,000; and pavement resurfacing in the Dayville-Flat Creek area between milepoints 131.26 and 138.05, $2,400,000, with work scheduled to begin in 2008.

Work on the culvert retrofit at Beech Creek is expected to start in 2006. All the other projects have start dates in 2007.

The remaining projects are:

• North Fork John Day River (Kimberly) Bridge, North Fork John Day River (Monument) Bridge, Starr Ridge - Cottonwood Creek

• Canyon Creek Bridges. This project will replace bridges #0M047 and #0M048 between milepoints 4.81 and 5.29 on Highway 395. Estimated cost: $390,000.
