Dec. 20, 1941 - Sept. 11, 2002

Former Seneca resident Robert Elliot Murray, 60, died Sept. 11 at the home of his son in Knoxville, Tenn.

He was born in Frederick, Md., on Dec. 20, 1941, to Luther F. Murray and Ernestine Powell Murray.

Mr. Murray was employed as a carpenter and was an avid outdoorsman.

Surviving him are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Kim Murray of Knoxville, James W. and Kellijo Murray of Brunswick, and John R. Murray of Brunswick; six grandchildren, Robert Luther Murray, Bailey E. Murray, Ryeleigh P. Murray, Marshall R. Murray, Jessica N. Malmquist and David A. Celli; stepmother, Eleanor V. Murray of Frederick; stepfather, Austin Trout of Frederick; aunt, Ruth Seiss of Ellicott City; and friends, Tony O'Toole of Mountaindale and Kent Price of Seneca.

Memorial services officiated by the Rev. Dorothy Lundgren were Sept. 14 at Baysville Lutheran Church in Libertytown. Keeney and Basford Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P. O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
