Laura DeAnn Davis of Pilot Rock and Matthew Robert Hopper of Lewiston, Idaho, have announced their engagement and plans to marry.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Dennis and Patricia Davis of Pilot Rock. A 1993 graduate of Elko High School in Elko, Nev., she graduated from Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyo., in 1999, with an associate's degree in photographic communications.
She is employed as a merchandiser with the Pendleton Round-Up Association.
The prospective groom is the son of Steve and Joan Hopper of John Day. A 1998 graduate of Grant Union High School, he graduated from Walla Walla Community College, in Walla Walla, Wash., in 2004, with an associate's degree in welding. He works as a welder/fabricator for Apex Curb and Turf in Clarkston, Wash.
The couple are planning a May 22, 2010, ceremony at Emigrant Springs State Park.
