Alexis Kowing and Jason Snooks were married on Sept. 2, 2006, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Roswell, Ga.

Tim Newby, pastor of the Roswell Assembly of God Church, performed the double-ring ceremony.

Ushers were the bride's brothers, Adam and Ethan Kowing. The groom's sister, Kimberly Snooks, and the bride's brother, Ethan Kowing, were the candlelighters. Ring bearer was Eli Wright, nephew of the bride. Liesa Snooks, sister of the groom, was the flower girl. The bride's sister, Shanna Wright of John Day, was the matron of honor. The best man was Jonathan Snooks, brother of the groom. Bridesmaids were friends of the bride Brittany Joiner, Shannon Rupp and Melanie Reed. Groomsmen were the groom's friends Matthew Zieger, Daniel Dillard and Charles Carter.

Honored guests were grandparents of the groom, H. Ray and Ethel Snooks of Alpharetta, Ga., and Elizabeth Chapman of Austin, Texas.

The reception was held at Roswell Assembly of God Church in Roswell, Ga.

Alexis is the daughter of Ken and Linda Kowing of John Day. She is a 2001 Grant Union High School graduate. She completed her bachelor of arts in business management at Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga. in August of 2005. She is employed with Andy Lewis Hobson Heating and Air as office manager.

Jason is the son of Greg and Ellen Snooks of Alpharetta, Ga. He graduated from Canyon Creek Christian Academy in 2001 at Plano, Texas. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering in December 2005. He is employed at Embraco North America as a quality engineer.

The couple resides in Lawrenceville, Ga.

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon at Lake Lanier in the North Georgia mountains.

Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at the Outpost Restaurant in John Day.
