SPRAY - A rodeo, half-marathon run, parade and other events will be on tap May 26-27 in Spray.

The 60th annual Spray Rodeo kicks off with the road race. The 43rd annual Eastern Oregon Half-Marathon starts at 8 a.m. at Service Creek, and the runners follow a 13.2-mile course that ends at the Spray School grounds.

Water will be available at stops along the route.

There also will be buckaroo breakfasts at the school both days, with proceeds benefiting the school athletic programs. The parade will start at 11 a.m., led by 2007 Rodeo Queen Savanna Richardson of Dayville and the grand marshals, the Clarence Warren family.

The rodeo events will bring in competitors from the Northwest Professional Rodeo Association, the Idaho Cowboys Association and the Pro West Professional Rodeo Association.

There will be bareback riding, calf roping, break-away roping, saddle bronc riding, team roping, bull riding and more, plus a few kids events.

NPRA Announcer of the Year Scott Allen, of Klamath Falls, will return for his 10th appearance at the Spray events.

Other events include a roast beef dinner at the Spray Grange and a rodeo dance at the school on Saturday night. A cowboy church service is set for 9 a.m. Sunday, May 27 at the arena.
