Samuel Wayne Kyriss, a former engineer, died Dec. 1, 2005, at his residence. He was 58.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 at Grace Chapel in Prairie City.

Mr. Kyriss was born Jan. 9, 1947 in Sweet Home to Clarence and Ruth (Walker) Kyriss.

He worked as an engineer and was a jack-of-all-trades.

He married Cheryl Lalond and then Kathy Smith.

Mr. Kyriss enjoyed reading, ham radio and spending time with friends and family.

His proudest accomplishments were his three daughters, Alicia, Daisy and Amy, as well as all of his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Alicia Rudd of Newton, Kan., Daisy Ann Kyriss of Kanai, Alaska, and Amy Elizabeth Kyriss of Prairie City; two brothers, Clarence and Kevin Kyriss; sister, Susan Kyriss, of Mt. Vernon; mother, Ruth Kyriss, of Prairie City; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
