Grant Union FFA seeks Agricultural Auction items

JOHN DAY - The Grant Union FFA is accepting items for the second annual Vocational - Agriculture Auction behind Grant Union High School. The club is looking for things related to agriculture, except hazardous materials, old tires, paints, etc. All items may be delivered to the Agriculture Shop during school hours, or call Bryce Meyer at (541) 575-1799 to make arrangements.

The auction will be held at noon Saturday, June 5. Items can be previewed from 10 a.m.-noon on the day of the auction.

E. Oregon Forest Institute offered for teachers

Any teacher interested in a free forestry workshop, which includes 20 professional development units, need to register by June 2.

The event will take place in the classroom at the OSU Extension Service in Island City, with a field day scheduled as part of the workshop. The program will provide teachers with an understanding of Eastern Oregon forestry issues and enhance forestry education in the classroom.

Lodging, meals and registration are provided. Call Honour Bowen, OSU Extension Service, at (541) 963-1010 or Angie Johnson, Oregon Department of Forestry, 963-3168, to sign up. Space is limited to 40 teachers.
