GRANT COUNTY - Area senior care centers hope to liven up their facilities as the fall arrives in Grant County. Valley View Assisted Living Residence in John Day will open its doors 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, for a Harvest Party with visitors including Becky Rhinehart's class from Humbolt School. The community is invited to join in games, a cake walk, fishing and ring toss with prizes for winners. There will be a door prize drawing. On Halloween Friday Oct. 31, trick or treating will be happening from 6-8 p.m. Warm drinks and treats will be plentiful.

Likewise, Canyon Creek Guest Home is inviting family, friends, and costumed youngsters (and oldsters, if you please) to its Halloween party at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31. Refreshments will be served.

Treats and games are in store for residents and visitors of Blue Mountain Nursing Home beginning at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. Refreshments will be served and adults and youngsters are encouraged to dress for the occasion.
