JOHN DAY - Winter snows are just around the corner and snowplay enthusiasts are in the process of waxing up their skis and tuning up their snowmobiles.

The Grant County Snowballers are also getting ready for a big winter season.

Recently, the club volunteered its time and effort to repair the outhouse at the Starr Ridge Sno-Park.

Speaking about the Starr Ridge Sno-Park, Snowballers president John Bastian said: "This is a really fun area that people enjoy in the winter and the facility here is important. We hope that whoever vandalized it in the past will realize that they are hurting their friends and neighbors. Hopefully, it can remain in good condition now for everyone to enjoy."

For more information about joining the club, call Bastian at 575-3640 or 620-1411.
