SALEM - Horsewomen from Grant County earned a number of ribbons in equestrian competition at the Oregon State Fair.

Brittany Lawrence from Prairie City emerged as the big winner among the local ladies winning blue ribbons in English Equitation (hunt seat), senior (horse and pony); Trail Horse, senior (horse and pony); Horse Dressage, senior (training level, test 4 horse and pony); and Horse Showmanship, senior (horse and pony).

Julie Bowling from Canyon City picked up red ribbons in English Equitation (hunt seat), intermediate (horse and pony); and in Horse Showmanship, intermediate (horse and pony).

Kelsey Josi, also from Canyon City, earned red ribbons in Western Equitation, senior (horse and pony); and in Horse Showmanship, senior (horse and pony).

Rounding out the local winners was Alicia Thomas from John Day, who won red ribbons in English Equitation (hunt seat), intermediate (horse and pony); and Horse Showmanship, intermediate (horse and pony).
