SALEM - Oregon residents who want to show off their art, such as sculpture, ceramics, watercolor, calligraphy and more are invited to enter in the Oregon State Fair's 2004 Art Annual. The juried shows take place during the State Fair, Aug. 26-Sept. 6 in Salem.

The Oregon Art Annual includes entry categories in professional, amateur, student and youth, juried calligraphy and non-juried calligraphy. Entries are accepted in all media except motion picture and video. Slides for professional entries are due July 26; the entry fee is $15.-All other entries are due Aug. 14 and 15 with the following fees: amateur: $7; student/youth: no fee; juried calligraphy: $7 and non-juried calligraphy: no fee. -

The art and calligraphy exhibits will be displayed in the Jackman-Long Building on the state fairgrounds. The award winners will be announced at an artist reception Aug. 25.

A total of $3,500 in prize money will be awarded in the Oregon Art Annual.
