PRAIRIE CITY - Kindergarteners in Cindy Wimer's class at Prairie City School began a challenge this fall to read 100 books as part of Scholastic Book Clubs' ClassroomsCare program.

The students join classes around the United States who are working toward the same goal.

The program will help put one million books into the hands of disadvantaged children.

Teamed up with Super Bowl Most Valuable Players Peyton and Eli Manning, classrooms choose either "Team Payton" or "Team Eli" and track their progress via websites and classroom posters.

"Scholastic Book Clubs' ClassroomsCare lets both students and teachers demonstrate the spirit of service and sharing, while also instilling a passion for reading," Wimer said.
