CENTRAL OREGON - A team of Cause and Origin Investigators from the Central Oregon Arson Task Force (COATF) is continuing the investigation of the Log Springs Fire that started July 25 on the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Reservation.

The fire was reported at approximately 1:45 p.m. and COATF has determined it was human-caused. It was unknown whether the fire was accidental or intentionally set.

If any person was in the area at the time or if they have any information regarding the Log Springs Fire, they are requested to call the Wildfire Hotline at (800) 448-9453.

The Central Oregon Arson Task Force is an interagency group comprised of 16 federal, state and local agencies formed to review all wildland fires in Central Oregon. The team attempts to establish cause and origin of wildland fires and investigates those determined to be human-caused.

Since 1988, the task force has successfully caught nine suspects believed to be responsible for at least 63 fires.
