FOSSIL - ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Towards Education) of Oregon Inc. presents its 27th annual Fossil Motorcycle Campout and Music Festival held in Fossil over Memorial Day weekend, May 28 to 31. The Fossil Campout has become one of Oregon's largest motorcycle runs and a premier music event in the state.
Twelve bands representing rock, soul and blues perform over the weekend culminating in a grand finale on Sunday featuring the Curtis Salgado Band playing music from their newly released CD, "Strong Suspicion."
Featured activities include a Biker Rodeo on Saturday at the Fossil Fairgrounds and a Bike Show Sunday in downtown Fossil. Other activities are a strong man contest, tattoo contest, mud wrestling and children's money hunt. Vendors, such as South West Choppers Inc., will be on site with motorcycle related goods, crafts, and leathers, along with food concessionaires.
Cost at the gate is $25 for members with a Motorcycle Rights Organization Card and $30 for all others. (Children under 14 admitted free). Gate opens at 3 p.m. Friday.
