Why is this so hard?

I swear, I am running and watching what I eat. I won't say that I am 'dieting', but I don't eat much sugar or carbs. Yet... these pounds are hanging on for dear life! And worse... when I am working out the hardest, I GAIN! What the heck??? If that isn't motivation to stay on track, I don't know what is. So, I guess the goal needs to be health and strength. Right? Here's to another month of trying...
