Trooper lauded

Trooper Tom Hutchison

Oregon State Police master sergeant Gordon Larson, right, of the John Day Outpost, shakes hands with trooper Tom Hutchison as Larson awards Hutchison with a certificate of appreciation for his hard work during a recent drug investigation. Hutchison’s role as primary investigator during 2011 and 2012 resulted in the indictment of Drew Harmer of Mt. Vernon for the manufacture of marijuana. Larson said that Hutchison “stepped outside the traditional role as officer and spent a significant amount of time working the covert operation.” “He donated a lot of hours toward stemming the flow of narcotics in our area.”
