Two arrested on burglary, theft charges

Two people have been arrested on burglary and theft charges from a building near Prairie City.

Thomas Grant Pifher and Heather Dawn Lee Carter were both indicted May 30 on charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree theft of construction tools and equipment valued at more than $1,000. The crimes allegedly occurred between Dec. 25, 2017, and May 1 at a residence on North River Road southeast of Prairie City, according to court documents.

Pifher, born in 1962, lives at a residence in Haines, and Carter, born in 1987, is homeless from Baker City, according to court documents.

Both are scheduled to enter pleas July 19 in Grant County Circuit Court.
