Tye Aaron Parsons and Stephanie Marie Dowdy were united in marriage Oct. 12 at Living Word Christian Center in Mt. Vernon. Pastor Grant Faulconer officiated, and Pastor Sharon Miller offered the blessing.
The groom is the son of Steve and Dotty Parsons of Mt. Vernon. The bride is the daughter of Lenny and Sherri Dowdy of John Day.
Nikki Whipple was the maid of honor and bridesmaids included Marci Teague and Sylvia Dowdy, sister of the bride.
Trinity Hutchison was flower girl, and Luke Goozee was ring bearer.
Joel Barfield served as best man, and groomsmen included Orrin Ledgerwood and Shawn Parsons, brother of the groom.
After a honeymoon at Orlando, Fla., the couple is at home in John Day.
The bride, a 2002 graduate of Grant Union High School, is employed by Pioneer Bank; the groom is employed at S&C Electric. He is a 2001 graduate of Grant Union High School and also attends an electrical school in Kennewick, Wash.
Special guests included the groom's grandmothers Evelyn Horton of Salem and Jackie Parsons of Estacada; and the bride's grandparents Ron and Joyce Dowdy of Creswell and Lois Hickerson of John Day, and the bride's great-grandparents, Lloyd and Velma Dowdy of Marcola.
