LOGAN VALLEY - Kids, get ready for fun, action and excitement at this summer's Grant-Harney 4-H "Hippie Days" Camp.

The weeklong camp will be held Monday-Friday, July 6-10, at Lake Creek Camp in Logan Valley. Campers will experience five fun-filled days related to the theme "Hippie Days."

Activities will include outdoor living skills, natural resource classes, crafts, interactive games, hikes, flag ceremonies, campfires and skits. The camp is open to youth from the two-county area who have completed grades 4-6.

Registration is open through Tuesday, June 12.

The cost is $150, with several $75 scholarships available for Grant County 4-H members. The scholarships have been made possible by area organizations and individuals including the the Swede Pearson Memorial Fund, John Day Kiwanis, Lindy and John Bastian, the Long Creek Home Extension Club and the John Day Lions Club.

The camp is sponsored by the OSU Extension Service with support from the 4-H Leaders Association. Extension faculty from both counties, along with adult volunteers and older youth counselors are responsible for the camp program.
