Robert Parker, OSU Extension forester from Baker City, will offer a presentation, Successful Woodland Owner Cooperatives: The Austrian Example. Parker traveled to Hungary, Austria and Slovenia last year and learned how closely the forestry, social and economic concerns there parallel those in our area. The meeting will also review the Austrian Biomassehoffs or Biomass Trading Centers phenomenon, with discussion on whether that model could be applied here.
