Pancake feed at the grange

 • 5-7 p.m., Mt. Vernon Grange

 Sourdough and regular pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs, coffee and punch will be on the menu for the annual pancake feed. The cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-12 and children under 6 free. Up River Country Band will provide music and there will be a cakewalk. Call 541-575-1007.

Forestry presentation

 • 6-8:30 p.m., Grant County Regional Airport

 Robert Parker, OSU Extension forester from Baker City, will offer a presentation, “Successful Woodland Owner Cooperatives: The Austrian Example.” Parker traveled to Hungary, Austria and Slovenia last year and learned how closely the forestry, social and economic concerns there parallel those in our area. The meeting will also review the Austrian Biomassehoffs or Biomass Trading Centers phenomenon, with discussion on whether that model could be applied here.
