Master horseman show
JOHN DAY - Ray Hunt, America's master horseman, will offer three clinics July 12-16 in the Heritage building at the Grant County Fairgrounds. The clinics will be a two-day horsemanship clinic July 12 and 13 all day, a three-day colt starting clinic the mornings of July 14-16, and a three-day horsemanship clinic in the afternoons of July 14-16. Summer art classes
The Grant County Art Association will offer oil painting classes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 13 and 14 at a studio in Sharon Schultz's home. Bring your own lunch. CANYON CITY - Mark Stratton will perform country music from 7 to 9 p.m. July 14 at the Canyon City Park.

JOHN DAY - Andrew Demko will be the guest speaker at the Grant County Genealogy Society luncheon at noon July 17 at the Outpost. Demko will speak about the Civil War and Camp Logan.
JOHN DAY - The second annual Blue Mountain Hospice auction and benefit dinner will be held July 19 at the John Day Elks Lodge. Silent bidding held from 5 to 7 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m. and live auction at 6:30 p.m. Live music, games and door prizes. Tickets are $20 per person or $35 per couple. CANYON CITY - Junior and high school dance teams are collecting cans for dance camp in the horse trailer at Jackson's Shell in Canyon City.

The John Day Fossil Beds National Monument will offer a free two-hour auto tour at 10 a.m. July 14 at the Thomas Condon Visitor Center, 32651 Highway 19 in Kimberly.
