JOHN DAY - Dr. Ken Peterson and his dental staff joined 12 dental practices throughout Oregon to raise $30,000 for the Oregon Dental Foundation (ODF) through the first annual "Give A Day For Dentistry" fund-raiser in September.

The dental offices contributed the proceeds of one day's work to ODF - the dental profession's charity in Oregon. In turn, the Foundation will use the funds to support community programs that provide clinical dental services to children from low-income families throughout Oregon.

Dr. Peterson, who is a board member of the foundation, was instrumental in developing the program which is expected to be an annual fund-raiser for the dental charity.

The $30,000 raised will help the Foundation expand its mission to improve the dental health of all Oregonians. Since its inception in 1983, ODF has awarded more the $600,000 in grants. Seventy-five percent of the funds have been used to provide clinical dental care to children who would otherwise not receive services.

The Oregon Dental Foundation was established in 1982 to improve the lives of Oregonians by increasing the quality of dental health, education and scientific knowledge.
