McCALL, Idaho - Two local snowmobile racers competed in the 2003 American SnoCross Challenge on Feb. 22-23, and 5-year-old Alex Taylor brought home a trophy in his first-ever snowmobile event.

Racing in the 120 modified class, Taylor finished second in the first heat race and came in fourth in the second heat due to a crash with another sled at the beginning of the race.

In the main event, he finished in fourth place.

Also competing was 19-year-old Scott Berry who was racing at McCall in one of the events of the Rocky Mountain Cross County Racing Circuit.

Berry races in the Sport 600 and the Sport 440 classes in the series, and is currently in sixth place with 101 season points Sport 600 division, and seventh with 71 points in the Sport 440 division.

The next stop on the Rocky Mountain Cross Country Circuit will be at the Teton Valley SnoCross event at Driggs, Idaho, on March 8-9.
