To the Editor:

Gregg Smith’s article “From Ireland to Grant County” (Sept. 24) refers to the Dunstans as being Irish. My great grandfather would not be happy!

The Dunstan family from which we are descended were originally from Cornwall and latterly lived south of London. We were in touch with them until WWII. Their home area was heavily bombed and we never heard from them thereafter.

And, of course, my great grandmother Dunstan was Swedish. No Irish there!
