To the Editor:

I grew up in John Day and since I still have family here, I try to make it back once a year. I have seen few new things get implemented in the last couple of years that are pretty neat and good for its residents. What troubles me is that this area is dying. When I lived there the population was three to four hundred more residents. There has been no effort to increase jobs or industry in this area. Prineville is thriving. Why can't John Day?
