The Grant Union Gold dance team will perform at halftime during the Wednesday, Feb. 8, varsity boys basketball game against Crane scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. (Junior varsity basketball games start at 3 p.m., followed by girls varsity at 6 p.m.)

Grant Union Gold will compete Friday and Saturday at South Albany Competition in Albany.

Competition starts at 10 a.m. on Friday at South Albany High School.

Grant Union head coach Kattie Piazza said her team’s performance level is at a good starting point to grow throughout the season.

Their competition theme is “Revolt,” a song by Nathan Lanier, the team dancing in a combination of lyrical and contemporary styles.

“Overall, as a team, we really are coming into our own and laying the groundwork for a successful season,” Piazza said. “These dancers are all very talented, and I enjoy coaching each of them and am excited to see the finished product in March.”
